One of the seven holy pilgrimage centers in India, the ancient city of Dwarka is situated on western shore along the banks of river Gomti in Gujarat. It is known for its rich culture and heritage. Dwarka was the legendary capital of the lord Krishna, who founded it after his flight from Mathura. The town’s original temples were destroyed in 1372 by the Delhi emperors, but the most important of them, Jagat Mandir, subsequently was rebuilt. The five-story sandstone edifice is supported by 60 pillars and is visited by thousands of pilgrims annually. The main attractions of the city are Dwarkadish temple, Sankhoddar Island with the Ranchodrai and Matsyavatar temples, Lake Gopi, and Dwarikavan. Janmashtami is celebrated in a grand way throughout the city. During that time the whole city and local markets are awake until midnight with lots of cultural events.

This traditional bungalow is just 2 min walk from the Dwarkadhish temple and Dwarka Beach. It is nestled in a quiet and green surrounding and has a close proximity to the main market, beach, restaurants etc. There are a total of 4 guest rooms; 1 double occupancy, 1 triple occupancy on the ground floor and 2 four bedded family rooms are on the first floor. All come with an attached washroom. Both floors have a well equipped kitchen. There is a beautiful lawn for outdoor activities and for kids to play.

How To Reach

Dwarka has its own Railway station. Porbandar airport is located at a distance of 110 kilometers from the city center and Dwarka railway station is just 1 km away from the city center. Dwarka is also well connected on road and has frequent bus service from all major cities.

Know your Host

Harshakant will host you here along with his wife. He has retired from BSNL and his kids are married and settled. Since there were some extra rooms in the house , he opened the door to the travelers. He is a very polite and humble person and likes to interact with guests from varied regions and backgrounds. He was born and brought up in Dwarka and knows the place really well.
