Sitting on the edge of the Chail wildlife Sanctuary, this quiet little hamlet is a slice of heaven with its lush greenery, fabulous climate and breathtakingly beautiful views of the snow-capped Himalayas. Situated amidst the Shivalik range of Himalayas, it provides one of the best vantage points that you will get in all of Himachal. Chail is the home of the world’s highest cricket ground. This quaint hill town was built by the Maharaja of Patiala in the late 19th century. For a long time Chail remained the summer capital of the Patiala Kings until the Maharaja of Patiala donated most of his buildings to Chail Military School and the Government of India after accession to the Indian Union.
These traditionally built cottages are located on a hilltop and offer stunning views of the Himalayan ranges from all around. With the wildlife sanctuary in the vicinity, it is a perfect place for those looking for a peaceful stay in the lap of nature. There are 6 bedrooms, of which 4 are double occupancy rooms and the other 2 are the family suites that can accommodate 4 people each. Every room has an attached bathroom and a private balcony. The kitchen and restaurant are in the other cottage on the same premises.
The host has his own organic farm and most of the ingredients come to the kitchen are home grown. Go on forest and village walks, involve yourself in farming or local cooking, relax in the garden and enjoy bonfire night. With a 360-degree view of the mountains, its an absolute haven for families, groups of friends and solo travelers.
