Puran Singh and his family are resident of Sunkiya for centuries. Every nook and corner of Mukteshar is well known to him. He is a simple farmer who loves to talk about nature, farming, social issues and treats every tree like his own children. He also is a good guide and a cook who along with his wife Veena takes care of the home and the guests.

We had a wonderful time with the warm hospitality of the hosts, a place to be visited for those wishing to escape the maddening humdrum for moments of peace languishing amidst hills and the serene valley.

"It was indeed a marvellous experience and fabulous hilly treat. Here we actually realized that the greatest creations of GOD is......Family and Mother Nature. We will always cherish this unforgettable trip which was full of Love, Care & Calmness. Through this review I would also like to thank Mr Vinod & our wonderful host..Mr & Mrs Pooran Ji for lovely hospitality which they have offered. To sum up I can only say that WE GOT WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR. Finally, I end with a quote which someone has rightly said "Those who travel to mountain-tops are half in love with themselves, and half in love with oblivion".

"My love for anything that's rustic yet beautiful often takes me to places less ventured. This time I chose Mukteshwar, and chose a 'homestay' run by Puran Singhji and his wife in a small hamlet called 'Sunkiya' near Mukteshwar ...totally worth it! Welcomed by clean air and blue sky ..simple clean rooms... good healthy food with veggies straight out of their garden... basking in the sun with a great view overlooking acres of terraced fields. They have cows too which means that we got milk, ghee and curd rite from the source. Puran Singhji & 'didi' as I called his wife were great hosts in their own simple way. It's a pet friendly home, even my four legged child queen was much at ease and looked like she was home. Highly recommended."

This was the first homestay where I stayed, and I felt like I was in paradise for the ten days that we stayed there during October. It was an amazing experience, if only for the breathtaking view from the terrace in front of the room. We spent all of our time relaxing in and around the homestay, and we weren't bored for even one second. The homestay is truly a hidden gem where you can find immediate inner peace. It was almost painful to leave. On top of that the host, his wife and his son are the sweetest people and incredibly hospitable. Admittedly, I'm a very picky eater but the food there was some of the best which I ever had. Incredibly fresh and amazingly well prepared. Would travel all the way back there for the food alone. Thank you for giving us the time of our life, I definitely hope to come back here soon.
