Shergaon is tiny hamlet about 4 hours from Tezpur located in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Shergaon Monastery, Sangti Valley, Bomdila Monastery, and the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary are among the village’s attractions and landmarks. The homestay is located just beside the stream – Doblo Kho which has around 6-7 species of cold water fish, especially trout. The house has an aura of an old vintage bunglow, with the view of the mountains from the window and the calming sound of the stream rolling just behind it.
This traditional, double-story independent house is made of stones with wooden decor and has 4 rooms, 1 Superior room and 3 Classic Rooms all with attached bathrooms. The backyard of the homestay offers a lovely view of the stream and has a small staircase that leads to the stream down below. They grow their own vegetable in the kitchen garden and also have apple, kiwi, persimmon, walnut, plum, and peach trees in the compound. So be ready for a fresh crunchy treat if you visit during harvest time. Go on forest hiking with the host in the day and spend evenings socialising with other travellers by the bonfire.
