Ranot is a small off-beat village near Shimla in Himachal around 22 kilometers from NH5, Rampur Bushahr. The road will take you through lush countryside & picturesque villages, coniferous forest and a vast stretch of apple orchards. This lovely homestay is nestled in the woods, and surrounded by orchards, villages, and farms and overlooks beautiful green valley with multiple mountain peaks. It’s a perfect place for a relaxed exploration of a very pretty part of Himachal.
There are 4 guest rooms on the second floor with handmade wooden furniture & have minimalist décor. Every room has an attached bathrooms. The whole place is tastefully done, and immaculately maintained. The glass lounge with its dramatic views of snowcapped mountains, sunsets, and stars needs to be experienced at leisure. Watching sunlight burst over mountain tops will never cease to amaze us. There is enough space for outdoor activities. Tandoor and bonfire can also be arranged on request. The games area has TT, football, croquet, dart etc. You can go on leisurely walks around the serene and pristine countryside. It’s a great base for day trips to discover the nearby sights of the Bhimkali temple and palace at Sarahan, Shraikoti, and secluded waterfalls.

The homestay is run collectively by the family of Bakul Bisht. They are primarily engaged in managing their apple orchards. Bakul’s father is a retired IFS officer and this homestay is his initiative to bring tourism to the valley so that local people don’t stay dependent only on apple cultivation for their livelihood. You will be touched by the genuine warmth and helpfulness of the family.
