Mrs Priya Bembey, wife of a serving senior officer in the Indian Navy manages the homestay. The welcoming couple have been married for the past 30 yrs and stay in a newly built adjacent property in the same piece of land. Both husband and wife are art lovers, love to host and meet new people and enjoy old hindi music. The house contains some of their art works done over the years. It is a delight to sit with them over the bonfire in the evening and share stories. They are assisted by a servant in their house who is a married boy from Chamba, serving the family for past three years.

Excellent comfortable place. Great place to be with family and friends. Personalized attention by owners makes it a worthy place to stay in Shimla.

Excellent place for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The hosts are warm and take great care for your every need. The place is a cosy wood panelled home with every amenity, including a great wi-fi ( which I needed). Good for a single / couple or large family, as the ancestral house has adequate rooms. The location is next to the Summer Hill railway station; quiet and green. Its close enough to visit Shimla( we walked) , but away from Shimla's bustle. There's great home made food on request, which we enjoyed. Highly recommended.

I would really call it a Home away from Home. I went to Shimla on a solo trip, knowing nothing about the place. From the moment I booked the homestay, Roopan sir has been very kind in helping me with every step, starting from how to reach the homestay to what places I must visit as a tourist. Once I reached, I was received with warmth by Roopan sir and Sanju, the caretaker. I was served food, which led to a great opportunity in introducing me to their resident furry friend Torpedo :D Post that we discussed my plans for the stay and tour. The homestay itself was a great way to relax, with calm surroundings conducive to pursue any focused activities like reading, writing, meditation etc. With a high-speed wifi connection one could easily attend to their work commitments. The homestay is away from the regular tourist bustle of Shimla and is great if you want to visit some off-beat destinations or you just need a walk inside the woods and jungle. The main tourist destinations can also be reached on foot and if you love walking or trekking, I suggest that you cover all the places by foot. This experience is nothing less than magical and enthralling. Throughout my stay there both Roopan sir and his wife, Priya mam have been checking in with me regularly to see if all was well, especially because I went alone. This was nothing less that the care and safety one would get at home. Overall it was an amazing experience. I would definitely not think twice before booking this stay if I ever go back to Shimla again, either alone or with my friends and family!

Relax, Rejuvenate & Rewind – this is what I would say about Priya’s home stay. Anyone who is in Shimla would want to explore the town or go to the mall road. But trust me, I never stepped out of the property for the first 4 days, the property itself is vintage. Weather added some extra life to the property during our stay, it was pleasant, cozy and a little drizzle summing upto a beautiful workation. I would want to specifically bring up the love and warmth that Roopan Sir has towards to this property and maintain it with utmost highest standards that are needed for a homestay. Wifi was available with high speed, Kitchen was fully loaded to serve to a dozen people, and the dining area is the best part of the property. Do read host's album and his achievements at the Indian Airforce before starting your meal or when you get some time. Lawn with bonfire and a badminton court with flowers all around will make you go awwww everytime you pass by. The fluffy friend Torpedo (btw would be your wifi user name as well) is such a cutie that you want to take it to your home. A simple treat will make his tail wag and will be with you for the rest of the stay. In the world of 5 stars rating to approve someone’s credibility, this homestay definitely gets and additional star.
