Dhankar is one of the oldest villages in Spiti valley and is located on a hill high above the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers. It is known for its ancient monastery and Dhankar Lake trek. There is no airport in Spiti. You can come on the road either via Manali or via Shimla. The road from Shimla remains open for all 12 months except for peak winters when heavy snowfall may block it temporarily for a few days.
Located on top of the Dhankar village, this homestay offers a panoramic view of the village downwards. From the backside of the homestay you can see Spiti and Pin river confluence. The homestay is just a few miles away from steep mountains which provides a mesmerizing view right from your room, wrapped in warm blankets. A trek on the mountain on the left of the homestay takes you to the beautiful Dhankar lake. There are 5 guest rooms with a common English and a local dry toilet. This is a best place to experience typical Spiti family lifestyle and hospitality.
