Pahadi Dacha Homestay – Banjar

The Banjar valley in Kullu district of Himachal is one of the most beautiful and least explored valleys of the state. Lush green forests cover the entire area and Tirthan river flows through it along with the tributary Pushpabhad flowing from Jalori pass through Jibhi.

This traditional Himachali style homestay is located in the midst of nature in a small village Laida in Banjar valley. It is around 30 km from Aut. The house is perched on the hillside with amazing valley views. A small walk of 250 mtr from the parking takes you to this hidden gem. Surrounded by pine forest and Apple, Plums, Persimmon orchards, it is ideal if you are looking for a serene rustic stay in the midst of nature. There are some nice village hikes and treks nearby. The villagers are largely dependent on agriculture and you can experience peace, calm and traditional pahari rural lifestyle while staying here.

There are 3 well maintained guest rooms. One room comes with an attached bathroom and another two rooms have a common one. Having good network connectivity, the place is ideal for Workation as well.

How To Reach

The nearest airport is in Bhuntar 48 km from Banjar, but has limited flights. The best way to reach is via Delhi. Take the Himachal Tourism (HTPDC) overnight Volvo bus to Manali. Get off at Aut from where you can take a taxi.

The family serves delicious home cooked vegetarian pahadi meals with utmost love and care. Enjoy hot stuffed parathas with chutney or butter toast with tea for breakfast. Lunch and dinner includes seasonal vegetables, Dal, Rajmah, rice, roti etc. Organic farm fresh vegetables, locally sourced cereals, and homemade milk products are used in cooking. Chicken preparation can be arranged on prior request. You must also try traditional Himachali delicacies like Siddu, Childa, Babru, Chidu-thimda, akhrot ki chutney, Dahi bhalla etc.

You will be welcomed by a sweet Pahadi family Kishan Chand, his wife Varsha, their mother and 2 kids. Other than running the homestay, Kishan has apple orchards. They are the natives of Banjar and therefore you will get to experience authentic Pahadi culture and hospitality here. Being locals they can guide you best on local nature treks and trails. The homely vibes, love and care of the host family and healthy organic meals will make your stay memorable.

Homestay’s was truly mesmerizing

I recently had a short vacation in Jibhi and stayed at one of the best homestay in Banjar Valley, and I can confidently says that it exceeded all my expectations.The location of homestay's was truly mesmerizing. From the top of the corner of homestay, you can see the complete valley view. I completely enjoyed eveything. The room were so good and clean. Best part was the their complete traditional decor of room which was covered with wood and One of the highlights of this homestay experience was warm and homely vibes it exudes. Let's talk about the food! Yummy!!! Their tradional food was so delicious. Loved it! Thank you bhabhi ji and bhai ji for such a home food. I was away from home but your home vibes and traditional food made me feel like my home!
