Mulbek, that considered to be the birth place of next incarnation of Maitreya Buddha, is just 36 kms from Kargil towards Leh. Mulbekh’s most prominent sight is a 1000-year-old Maitreya Buddha statue, carved into an 8 meter tall lime rock. It’s right by the roadside, rising through the middle of the minuscule Chamba Gompa.

This homestay is nestled amidst nature on Leh-Srinagar highway and is surrounded by picturesque mountains, barley fields, and a river. There are 8 cozy and comfortable guest rooms with breathtaking views; 6 of them have attached bathrooms and 2 have a shared bathroom. Freshly prepared vegetarian home-made food is served with organic vegetables freshly plucked for the kitchen-garden.
