Leh is the capital and the largest town of the union territory of Ladakh. It used to serve as the capital of the royal kingdom in historic times. Changspa is a pedestrian friendly area located right in the heart of the town, very close to the main market. The area is a delight for travelers as everything from the bike rental and travel operators to cafes and restaurants are available here.
It is a newly constructed double storey house based in a peaceful location of Changspa. It advocates traditional Ladakhi living with all the modern amenities. The homestay has 4 guest rooms; 2 on the ground floor and other 2 on the first floor. All come with an attached washroom. The highlight of the home is a traditional dining area that allows guests to relax and sit in for casual conversations while enjoying their meals. It is located in the proximity to the popular Shanti Stupa, which is at a moderate hike from the homestay. There is ample space for parking and an organic kitchen garden where they grow onion, carrot, radish, cauliflower, cabbage, peas, mint, potato, broccoli etc. All the vegetables for the kitchen come from their own kitchen garden.

Rinchin takes care of the kitchen. She is an expert cook and prepares delicious traditional Ladakhi food. Skyu, Chutaghi, Momos, Thukpa, Thentuk, Chhitai, she can cook it all. Apart from this, she can also prepare North-Indian food like all seasonal vegetables, lentils and various other curries. Breakfast options are paratha with curd and pickle, bread with butter and jam, egg along with tea of your choice. They prepare Jasmine Tea, Mint Tea etc. All the vegetables used in the kitchen are organic and come from their own kitchen garden.

Sonam along with his wife Rinchin manages the homestay. Sonam is a cheerful and humble man originally from Hemis Shukpachan village in Sham valley. He has been in the tourism industry for the last 10 years. He used to work as a trekking guide and completed a lot of circuits in Ladakh. It is from his experiences as a guide that he thought of opening a homestay for avid travelers looking to experience a traditional yet comfortable Ladakhi living.
