Turtuk in Ladakh is a tiny hamlet along the shores of Shyok River with Nubra valley on one side and Karakoram range on the other. It is known for its unique culture, location and legendary Balti hospitality. Located right at the centre of the village, this homestay is at a convenient distance from the Monastery, Heritage Museum and the Beach. It is one of the best places to stay in Tutuk to get the feel of unique Baltic culture along with amazing views and good food.
Constructed in local style, the house has 8 well maintained spacious rooms for guests, all with attached bathrooms. The rooms have magnificent views of the farms, orchards, Shyok river and snow covered Karakoram ranges. The best spot of the house is its terrace that is surrounded by mountains on the sides. Witnessing a milky way from here is common but if you are lucky you might see a couple of shooting stars too. Go on a heritage walk with the host or stroll around chasing the birds. The walk on the bridge over river Shyok and through the village is scenic and rewarding.
