Tea By The Lake Homestay Ooty

Nestled amongst the Nilgiri hills in Tamil Nadu, Ooty has nature’s abundant blessings. Ooty was once the summer capital of Madras Presidency under the British. The Stone House, St. Stephen’s Church and  landmark 1822 bungalow  are the remnants of the area’s first British settlement. Dotted with sprawling tea gardens,  winding country lanes, scenic waterfalls, and charming colonial architecture, it is one of the favorite hill destinations from Bangalore and Coimbatore. From Doddabetta Peak, the district’s most prominent viewpoint, you can see as far as the Mysore plateau On a clear day. 

It is a beautiful lake view homestay built on an independent 100 acres tea estate. Located on top of Ooty hills, it provides a breathtaking views of tea gardens and the lake. There are 6 rooms for the guests spread across 3 different structures. One is a greenhouse made of cement sheets, 3 are concrete rooms and the other 2 are dome structures.  The rooms are simple, spacious and neatly maintained with all modern facilities and have an attached bathroom. Take a walk in the tea gardens, go fishing or just relax with your favorite book in the beautiful sit outs in the garden overlooking the lake. It provides a perfect setting for a relaxing vacation away from all the city madness.

The nearest airport is at Coimbatore which is located around 88 km and the nearest railway station is Mettupalayam, 49 km  from Ooty.

Murugan loves to meet and interact with new people and therefore he developed it as a homestay. Now the family is hosting guests from all across the world and they thoroughly enjoy it. You can benefit from his knowledge about the place. He is a very calm and composed person and is very particular about hygiene. He treats his guests like his own family and makes sure they enjoy staying in the stay.
