Coonoor is a quiet lazy town in the Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu just around 15 km from Ooty.  Hidden nature trails, dense forests and lush tea estates coupled with its old colonial influence makes Coonoor an alluring destination in the heart of the Nilgiris. Hike, visit tea plantations or marvel at mountain views. You can also do bird watching as an extensive variety of birds can be spotted here. What sets Coonoor apart from many other hill stations in the Nilgiris, is the bright purple kurinji flower that blooms once every 12 years. Rows of these Kurinji trees can be spotted along the Ooty-Coonoor highway.   

This well maintained two storied bungalow is located on a hilltop away from the city amidst nature. It overlooks Nilgiris with a gushing stream nearby and tea gardens and greenery all around. It is an ideal place to relax, pursue your hobbies, go out for a walk or a trek, do yoga and meditation. The guests stay one level below the hosts and there’s a small staircase with a gate that connects both parts of the house. 

There are two spacious rooms with wooden floors, attached bathrooms and independent sit outs. You can spend time together with family or friends in the lounge, read, a mini library and a fully functional kitchenette in case you want to cook. There is a large balcony facing east and opens up to the valley. It is ideal for quiet times in the morning enjoying your cup of tea with sunrise..

How To Reach

Coimbatore is the nearest airport, 75 km from the town. Toy train can also be taken from Ooty from where buses and taxis are available.

She conducts culinary classes and also has her own range of natural skincare products. Hemant is an avid golfer. They both are friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. They can also help you arrange a local guide to explore the place.
