Village Teda – Ramnagar

Teda is a small village, located just 4 km from the main market of Ramnagar which is the gateway to Jim Corbett National Park. The town is named after British commissioner H. Ramsay who established it in 1856–1884 during the British rule in India. The biggest attractions of Ramnagar are Garjia Devi Temple and Maa Sita Bani temple.

Stay with Ramesh Suyal, an award winning forest guide. This homestay is his tribute to the famous wildlife film maker, Christopher Sparrow. Ramesh guided him on countless wildlife expeditions for 20 years and eventually they became good friends. Christopher celebrated almost every Indian festival with Ramesh’s family. He always inspired Ramesh to make a homestay so that more wildlife enthusiast can be benefited by his knowledge and experience.  To fulfill his dream, Ramesh put all his saving and built this homestay for every wild lifer.

The homestay has 2 classic, 2 superior and 2 premium guest rooms. All come with an attached bathroom and air condition. Running hot water is available 24×7 and Wifi.

How to Reach

Pantnagar is the nearest airport at 81 km. There are regular buses from Ramnagar Bus Stand to Nainital,  Haldwani,  Haridwar,  Dehradun, Moradabad,  Meerut and Delhi. Ramnagar has its own Railway Station which is connected by all close by parts of India.

Ramesh’s wife Asha is the in charge of kitchen. She offers a mix of Indian and continental breakfast like Parantha, curd or tea/coffee and Sandwich, Butter Toast, Omelette. Dinner can be a combination of North Indian and Pahadi cuisines. Non-veg food is available on prior request.

Ramesh Suyal is one of the most experienced wildlife guide in Corbett. He won TOFT – Billy Arjan Singh award in 2014 as the Best Indian Wildlife Guide. His 11 year old son Piyush can count more than 350 birds. Ramesh is very sensitive about environment and social issues.
