Kasar Devi is a small hilltop hamlet located near Almora in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region. Just around 9hrs drive from Delhi, it is amongst one of the most beautiful weekend getaways. This serene place offers panoramic views of the Himalayas—from Nanda Devi to Panchachuli and is a perfect base to explore Almora, Binsar and Jageshwar. Located at an altitude of sound 6000 feet Kasar devi is one of the only three places on this planet under the impact of highly charged geomagnetic fields that come within the Van Allen Belts. The other two geomagnetic places are Machu Picchu in Peru and Stonehenge in England. The village has been a huge draw for artists, philosophers, free-thinkers and spiritual seekers from around the world.

There are 4 double bedrooms – 2 superior and 2 premium, all with attached bathrooms. And there is a separate cottage with a classic room and 2 Dormitories having 3 beds and 5 beds each with a charging station on the side of each bed.  There are 2 common washrooms for these 3 rooms. 2 tents can also be pitched outdoors.

How To Reach

Pantnagar is the closest airport at a distance of 123km and Kathgodam is the nearest rail head around 90 kms from Kasar. Shatabdi runs daily from New Delhi to Kathgodam, from where you can hire a taxi to Kasar Devi.
