Raithal, often referred as mini utopia by explorers, is a beautiful, quaint village located at 45 kilometers from Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand and is popular among seasoned trekkers as it is the base camp to Dayara Bugyal Trek. Located beautifully with views of Srikanth Parvat in background, this homestay assures travellers a comfortable stay with the essence of Garhwali culture and traditions . It has four spacious rooms in the homestay and can accommodate 10 guests. There are two washrooms in the premises, one attached to a room and one shared. The village receives fresh snowfall during winter, hence bonfire, heaters and extra blankets are supplied as per guests requirements. The bus stop is right in front of the Homestay and Private Parking is available for the guests. The local honey, handwoven goods, craft items and clothes can be bought from local market.

Private bus, Uttarakhand Roadways Bus, Shared Jeeps and Private Cabs are available from major cities like Rishikesh, Dehradun and Haridwar to Uttarkashi town. From Uttarkashi, further journey to Raithal village can be completed via Tata Sumo.

The Homestay has option for both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food. Freshly cooked local cuisine is served by Gyanendra and his wife, who cooks delicious meals. Most of the vegetable supplied to the kitchen comes from their own farms and also have cows for fresh dairy products. Some local dishes, gehet ki dal, lingda, kandali Saag, Mandua ki roti and Jhangori ki kheer are worth giving a try while your stay. Do inform the host in advance about your food preferences.

Gyanendra, the host, is a hard working farmer and labour who has been serving people selflessly. Gyanendra and his wife along with their son, Arun are available to look after their guests at the Homestay 24*7. Arun, being a good guide, helps his guests to show them around and take them on walk or trekking. Finding happiness in this work, Gyanendra even started construction of a dormitory in his terrace with wooden architecture for accommodation of a great number of guests.
