Mirik has become a popular tourist destination for its pleasant weather, natural beauty and easy accessibility. It is 49km from Darjeeling. From Ghoom there is a scenic road that goes to Sukhiapokhri, a hilly locality 11km from Ghoom and the road continue to Mirik. The main attraction of Mirik is Sumendu Lake located amidst Pine forest. The other places of interest are The Bokar Monastery which is the seat of the Venerable Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche. The monastery is one of the few in India that have retained its traditional beliefs and environment. Ramitey Dara (Hill top), Pasupati Nagar (Market place in Indo-Nepal Border), Thurbo Tea Garden are not-to-miss. Mirik worth a visit for its Orange orchard and organic farms.
The homestay is located in the middle of lush green orange orchards at School Dara, just 4 km from the main town. It offers peace and quiet ambience to retrieve from the rigors of city life. Many of the visitors enjoy Birding, going around the village interacting with the locals or farmers, reading books or simply stay at home appreciating the nature around. We have our own greenhouse where we grow organic vegetable. Guest can grab a basket and collect vegetables for their own meal. We keep cattle and make dairy products at home itself. There are 4 spacious double bedded rooms with attached western style toilets with 24 hrs running hot and cold water in 2 different cottages. One of them was built during Britisher’s period, called as Heritage Cottage. It has a common area with television. All rooms come with an extra bed. There is a huge green lawn for bonfire during winter. The cottages are surrounded by varieties of fruit orchards like Guava, Peach, Plum, Avocado, Grapefruit etc. and they allow their guest to pluck on their own and have it for a memorable experience. The home is a perfect example of farmstay.

It has been 8th generation that they are pure vegetarian so non vegetarian food is strictly not allowed even from outside.
