Howrah, located on the western bank of Hooghly river opposite its twin city Kolkata in West Bengal, has thousands years of rich heritage in the form of the great Bengali kingdom of Bhurshut. Howrah is the main junction station of Eastern and South Eastern Railwaysand therefore is an important transportation hub and gateway to West Bengal.
Just about 2 hrs drive from Kolkata, it is a two storied stand alone Bungalow located on the banks of the Hooghly river in Belari. From the terrace of the homestay, you can see the large expanse of river water as the large commercial sea going ships go in and out of Port of Kolkata. Tiny boats of the villagers move around all the time; a painter’s paradise for innovative paintings and sketches. Villagers may provide dingy rides for the guests on request. The interiors of the house are thoughtfully done by the owner himself who is a retired Merchant Navy Captain with eye soothing lights that match the quiet surroundings & serene atmosphere.
There are 2 guest rooms on the first floor with a common Balcony & a kitchenette. Both the rooms have an attached toilet. There is a small dining space on the first floor and a larger dining space is there on the sheltered terrace on the second floor. Each room is equipped with Air-conditioner, King size wooden bed, bedside unit, dresser, cupboard ,sofa-sets, Smart TV, Mini-refrigerator & Electric kettle. Free Wi-Fi internet / broadband service is available to work from home.

The homestay owner Capt. Manash Kumar Das is a retired Merchant Navy officer. He lives in Kolkata and visits this place sometimes with his family. He has provided employment to some local ladies here, who take care of cleaning and cooking for the guests.
