Kurseong is a quiet hill station located on the Siliguri – Darjeeling highway. The town is known for its beautiful vistas, orchid gardens, forested hills, and tea plantations and offers magnificent views of Mt. Kanchenjunga from some parts. It was a small village until It gained importance in 1880, when Darjeeling Himalayan Railway toy train service was extended to Kurseong. The toy train track runs alongside the road. The town has a colonial charm to it with British time schools, churches and other heritage buildings.  This small hill-town makes for a great stopover for those looking for a peaceful alternative to Darjeeling.

It is a four floor bungalow in the Dowhill area of Kurseong, at a distance of 30 km from Darjeeling. All the major attractions of Kurseong are in the near vicinity. The home is surrounded by beautiful pine woods and offers stunning views of snow covered mountains. The host is a retired army man and started the homestay recently to provide employment to the locals here. There are 8 guest rooms across 3 floors with a private bathroom with each room. There are ample seating areas, including the terrace, garden and the common living room. It is ideal for large groups and family get-togethers. The homestay can easily accommodate a group of 20-25 people.

Do try local dishes like gundru, gurkha chutney, taipo, thukpa etc. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian options are available.
